Welcome Roman Luis

We would like to welcome Isabelle's newest cousin to the family. Roman Luis Montenegro was born April 5th at 1:44am weighing in at a tiny (well, compared to Isabelle) 6lbs. 13oz. and was 18 inches long. He is such a precious little boy. We are all in love.

More pictures of Isabelle to come. Blogger wouldn't let me add anymore pictures to this post.

7 months old already!!!

Here are some new pictures of Isabelle. She is now sitting up very well, rolling to get toys and smiling and laughing all the time. Her first tooth finally came in. We were biting mommy for about a week, so we are really happy that she is not doing it anymore. She has also found a new love. Herself in the mirror. She laughs, waves her arms and wants to touch her beautiful reflection:) It's pretty cute!

I was trying to catch her looking at herself, but when she saw the camera she couldn't help but flash a big cheesy grin.

Here she rolled herself under the bed. Looks like we need to start childproofing the house.

Oops!! Looks like Flat Stanley (a project for Tyler's class) was not colored in waterproof
(or droolproof in this case) markers

Could she be any cuter?

Well, it has been awhile since my last post. Dave is doing much better. He just started a cardiac rehab program. They hook him up to heart monitors and have him exercise, this will hopefully help him regain his confidence and we can get back to life as usual. Isabelle is getting so big. She is eating vegetables and rice cereal, rolling over (though she doesn't really go anywhere, she just flops back and forth), and is sitting up for short periods of time. If she reaches too far to the side or leans back she goes toppling over. Here are some updated pictures.

Could she have any more rolls?

A Christmas photo with Izzy's two favorite cousins, Tyler and Jenna.
"Tummy time" with Brody (Dave's cousin Mirenda's baby, he is 5 days older than Isabelle.

First time eating carrots, I am not so sure she likes them yet.

Here's the story...

What a crazy start to the holiday season! On Monday the 1st of December Dave passed out at work and landed himself in the Cardiac ICU for 5 days and then spent another 3 days in the hospital. A few weeks prior he had been feeling his "heart beat" and had been getting a little dizzy. He went to the doctor the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and was set to get some blood work done Monday. Then on Monday, he passed out at his desk and a coworker thankfully found him and called 911. While in the ICU he went into cardiac arrest around 40 times in a 24 hour period and his heart had to be "shocked" back into a normal rhythm. His heart was going into PVC (Premature Ventricular Contractions) induced Ventricular Fibrillation. He had a procedure done on Tuesday called Cardiac Ablation where they went into his heart through an artery in his groin and found the areas that were causing the abnormal rhythm to occur and ablated (basically cauterized) those areas. Then on Monday (12/8) the Doctor put in an internal defibrillator. We are hoping that this arrhythmia will never happen again, but the defibrillator will help save his life should it ever happen. Apparently this condition is very rare for a young person with no history of heart problems and with an otherwise healthy body. He is now home and doing very well other than being a little sore from the last procedure.

Isabelle was such a trooper through it all. She was truly Dave's inspiration to get better and she was what helped me through some of the incredibly tough times those first few days. She could not have been a better baby. We are so thankful for all the well wishes, prayers, visits, phone calls and support over the last week. A thank you just doesn't seem like enough.

An Isabelle update:
She began rolling from her front to back on Friday after Thanksgiving.

She got her first haircut (Thanks Auntie!) Here is an "after" picture. You can't tell by her facial expression, but she really does like it.

She is beginning to get her 1st tooth.

We just went to her 4 month appointment and she is now 26 inches long (95th %ile) and 18 lbs. (100th %ile). Here is daddy holding our little "Chunky Monkey"
Here are Isabelle and Jenna in their matching dresses.
Isabelle and Grandpa Hunn kicking back after a big turkey dinner.

We are looking forward to a relaxing Christmas season. This one will be especially great, not only is it Isabelle's first Christmas, but we have a healthy daddy as well!

New toys and a visit with friends

We had a great visit a couple weekends ago with Kristina, her daughter Sarah who is 7 months and her mom Sue. They came up from San Jose, and Sue came down from Paradise. We hung out all day and Isabelle got to meet her good friend Sarah. It was a great day and we are so greatful that they were able to come to visit and hope that we can do it again soon!

We have been trying out some toys we recieved for shower gifts, like the Jumperoo and the Bumbo chair. She is still a little bit too small as she is kind of slumped over in them, but we still had fun for a short time.

Her favorite toys, and probably more age appropriate, still remain the swing and the jungle floor mat. Here is Daddy and Isabelle in the grass. We thought that she wouldn't like the feeling of the grass, but she didn't mind it at all.
